If you participate in a college pick 'em, the last few weeks have been gutwrenching. We feel your pain. We had a lousy week too going 4-of-10. For the season, Pigskin Grind is a not-too-terribly-bad 39-of-70.
As always, good luck this week. My picks are in bold.
Michigan State -16.5 v Michigan
Sparty may make the Wolverine fans yearn for this season to end. It's going to get ugly in East Lansing.
Oregon State +13.5 at Stanford
Stanford's offense looks impotent and thus, it seems highly unlikely that the Cardinal can score enough points to cover that spread. This looks like a 21-10 type of game in which case, Stanford doesn't cover.
Rice -14.5 v North Texas
Rice walloped Southern Miss and North Texas lost to Souithern Miss. Game over.
Oregon -18.5 v Cal
I like Cal's offense but its defense will not be able to stop the Ducks. This one may be close in the first quarter but Oregon should put the pedal to the metal and cruise to a big victory.
Georgia Southern -15.5 at Georgia State
One team lost to North Carolina State and Georgia Tech on the road by a combined five points. The other team barely beat Abilene Christian.
Memphis -22.5 at SMU
The Tigers' misdirection offense should have fun playing against a defense which has yet to surrender less than 43 points in any game so far this season.
UAB +22.5 at Arkansas
The Razorbacks will win but they will probably pull starters in the second half to rest up for Mississippi State next Saturday. The Blazers look like a great backdoor cover.
West Virginia +1.5 at Oklahoma State
The Mountaineers are one of the more underrated teams in FBS. Mild upset alert.
Missouri -23.5 v Vanderbilt
The Commodores are a hot mess. Pick against them every week.
UNLV +17 v Utah State
The Rebels have been a good team for the cover this season. I'll ride their coat tails a little bit longer.
